In 2018, this beautiful project began under the blessings of H. E. Garchen Rinpoche and the management of Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche. A new Stupa would be risen in Loma Bonita, Oaxaca, Mexico. That same year, Khenpo Samdup traveled to Loma Bonita for the first time, to become acquainted with the land and perform the respective practices to begin the process.

 

In February 2019, Khenpo Samdup traveled once again to Loma Bonita to bestow second blessings on the consecrated land and begin the construction process. A few months later, in May 2019, H. E. Garchen Rinpoche blessed the Stupa with the name of “Garchen Enlightenment Stupa Society.”

 

The Enlightenment Stupa opened its doors in March 2021, under the guidance of Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche. It was virtually blessed by H. E. Garchen Rinpoche.

 

In May 2021, Khenpo traveled for the fourth time to Loma Bonita and delivered teachings and Dharma practices in the Stupa; hence, starting the development of a Sangha, extending its benefits to its locality, its surroundings, and the country as a whole.
